This is what the training looks like

You will operate our gigantic machines and monitor quality using automated process control systems – there are more of them than in a jumbo jet. You will also be responsible for smaller maintenance tasks.

The apprenticeship lasts 3 years and you will obtain the Federal Certificate of Competence (EFZ). You attend the vocational college in Olten one day a week or in block weeks.

In the third year of your apprenticeship, you will work some shifts, are assigned to a fixed shift and are therefore part of the team involved in the processing and production of paper.

At the end of your apprenticeship, you will have all the technical skills you need for your next career move.

What you need to bring

You have a secondary school leaving certificate with at least a good level C.

  • Willingness for shift work
  • Good powers of observation
  • Good constitution (physically and mentally fit)
  • Enjoy science (math, chemistry and physics)
  • Ability to work in a team
