This is what the training looks like

Step by step, you will learn how to produce paper from raw and auxiliary materials. You will operate our gigantic machines and monitor quality using automated process control systems – there are more of them than in a jumbo jet.

The apprenticeship lasts 3 years and you will obtain the Federal Certificate of Competence (EFZ). You will regularly go abroad and complete two to three teaching blocks of four to eight weeks each year at the paper center in Gernsbach (Germany).

You change departments after each training block and get to know different areas. In the third year of your apprenticeship, you will do some shift work and will be assigned to a fixed shift, making you part of the team involved in paper production.

At the end of your apprenticeship, you will have all the technical skills you need for your next career move.

You have a level B secondary school leaving certificate.
