We love paper!
Our credo that motivates us. We love paper and believe in its future.

The two paper machines – our centerpiece
Our two paper machines produce almost 560,000 tons of paper, which is used for newspapers and magazines in web offset printing.
We focus on the reuse of waste paper: Perlen Papier is the largest recycler of waste paper in Switzerland: we process around 500,000 tons and turn it into new paper.

The PM7 paper machine, one of the most modern paper machines in Europe, produces 360,000 tons of newsprint per year. Around half of all Swiss newspapers are printed on PM7 paper.

30,000 hp, 176 meters long and as heavy as the Eiffel Tower. It runs daily and around the clock at around 110 km/h.
1,000 tons of production per day
The paper web produced by the PM7 can circle the earth in 15 days: 40,000 km long, with a paper width of 9.6 meters.
The more than 4 million tons of paper produced by PM7 to date would cover twice the area of Switzerland.
500 million Swiss francs
Half a billion francs was invested in the PM7. It was put into operation in 2010.

Paper machine PM4
The PM4, also known as the Pioneer, was one of the first machines in the world to coat and calender paper in a single operation.
It produces up to 200,000 tons of paper per year, a total of over 3 million tons.
The versatile
It can produce both magazine paper (LWC) and newsprint (ZD). In the spirit of continuous development, we are also working on the production of specialty papers.
25 years in service
PM4 was commissioned in 2000 and converted in 2006 to increase capacity.
Facts and figures:
- Grammages LWC: 51-80 g/m²
- Grammages ZD: 45-52 g/m²
- Screen width: 600 cm
- Working width: 536 cm
